United by BCR was developed as a fully custom intranet ecosystem designed to strengthen internal communication, employee engagement, and organisational culture within one of Romania’s largest banking environments. The project went far beyond an internal tool — it involved building an entire digital social infrastructure capable of connecting employees, centralising information, and encouraging long-term interaction across the organisation.

Challenge
An internal platform employees would actually want to use.
Most intranets fail for one reason: employees see them as mandatory utilities rather than meaningful environments. BCR’s objective was different — the platform needed to become an active part of company culture, something employees engage with daily rather than avoid. The challenge wasn’t technical. It was behavioural.
Built with enterprise-level security at its foundation.
Operating inside a major banking environment, security and infrastructure reliability were fundamental from the start. Internal access structures, user management, authentication flows, and protected communication environments all required careful consideration. The application had to feel socially approachable while operating under enterprise-grade banking standards.
Challenge
An independent product within the BCR ecosystem.
The platform was branded as its own internal product while staying visually connected to BCR — a “child” of the brand, recognisable and trustworthy, yet independent with its own personality. The logo was built around Open Sans, with the “u” custom-constructed from two curved forms flowing into one another, symbolising interconnectedness and internal unity.
Designed to pull employees in, not push tasks at them.
The interface needed to draw users in naturally through interaction design and social mechanics, not aggressive gamification. The onboarding flow felt unusually friendly for a corporate platform — inviting employees to connect with colleagues while discovering travel, entertainment, benefits, livestreams, and exclusive experiences.
A social ecosystem built around company culture.
Beyond communication and information, United functioned as a complete internal social layer. Personalised employee profiles, connection systems, social feeds, and engagement mechanics were built around company experiences and events. The social feed transformed internal communication from static announcements into a living, company-wide conversation.
